New Balance Numeric 480 Eighties Pack
We're stoked to showcase the New Balance Numeric 480 here at Drift House, available in two colorways: Forest Green/White and White/Purple. The "New Balance Numeric Eighties Pack," blends the retro flair of '80s skateboarding with a subtle nod to a historic sports rivalry.
The Story Behind the Shoe
The New Balance Numeric Eighties Pack, the NM480EST and NM480PST models, draws heavy inspiration from the skate and basketball scene of the 1980s. By revisiting designs inspired by this historic decade, New Balance aims to connect the nostalgia of older generations with the spirit of today’s skate culture.
Design and Details
The 480 models, available in both Forest Green/White and White/Purple, prioritize durability and performance. They feature a premium mix of suede for durability and mesh for ventilation. Each shoe sports the iconic 'N' logo, blending the heritage look with a contemporary edge as each colorway pays homage and references the iconic LA Lakers & Boston Celtics rivalry.
Colorways with a Story
The color choices are particularly significant in this pack. The Forest Green/White variant is inspired by the Boston Celtics, reflecting the team’s classic green and capturing their storied history. On the other side, the White/Purple model tips its hat to the Los Angeles Lakers, sporting colors associated with the team’s palette. The product SKU's even represent each Team's coast with their respective timezones (NM480EST & NM480PST). These colorways represent much more than aesthetic choices; they are a direct nod to the NBA’s historic Celtics-Lakers rivalry, making each pair a piece of sporting history.
Material Excellence
Focusing on skateboarding’s demands, the NM480 uses C-CAP midsole cushioning for impact resistance and NDurance rubber outsoles for grip and durability. These features showcase New Balance’s commitment to high-quality, functional design.
