Nike SB Rebuilds the Air Force 1 for Yuto

Yuto Horigome has become one of the most important names in modern skateboarding. Born and raised in Japan, Yuto grew up skating in Tokyo and built his career through video parts, contest wins, and a style that stays controlled even when the skating gets heavy. In 2021, he won the first Olympic gold medal in men’s street skateboarding in Tokyo, then kept building his Nike SB story through his Dunk releases and continued work with the team.

The Nike SB x Yuto Horigome Air Force 1 brings his name onto one of Nike’s most recognizable shoes. The Air Force 1 started as a basketball shoe in 1982, then became a staple well before Nike SB rebuilt it for skating. Nike SB’s version keeps the original AF1 shape and updates it with a deeper footbed, reinforced build, and skate-ready cushioning.

Yuto’s pair comes in White/Iron Grey/White/Coconut Milk/Washed Coral/Photon Dust. The colorway pulls from the original 1982 Air Force 1 with a lighter leather upper, grey mesh quarter panels, Iron Grey accents, and an aged Coconut Milk midsole. The shoe keeps the layout clean and lets the personal details carry the story.

His cross-feather family crest logo hits the outer heel, his lucky number 7 appears on the heel tab, and Yuto Horigome is printed on the Nike SB tongue label. Custom sockliners add more Yuto artwork inside the shoe, while the antique-style lace dubrae keeps the vintage AF1 direction going.

The apparel adds to the release without turning it into a full uniform. Drift House will also have two Yuto Horigome Skate Tees and two Yuto Horigome Skate Jerseys. The tees use heavyweight cotton, a loose fit, front and back screenprints, and Yuto’s twin feather family crest worked into the AF1 graphic. The jerseys bring a roomier, breathable build with sweat-wicking fabric, Yuto’s crest logo, embroidered details, a woven hem label, and an allover topographic print.

This is one of the first major Nike SB Air Force 1 releases, and Yuto’s name fits the timing. The shoe pulls from old AF1 language, his Japanese heritage, and his place in Nike SB now. The apparel carries the same crest and AF1 connection across tees and jerseys, giving the collection more than one way to tell the story.
