Dashawn Jordan’s Nike SB Dunk Low

Dashawn Jordan is one of Nike SB’s standout skaters, known for his speed, style, and a contest résumé that includes wins at events like Tampa Am and Tampa Pro. He grew up in Chandler, Arizona, just outside Phoenix. Before skateboarding ever took over his life, he was already obsessed with sneakers. One of his earliest memories is sneaking pairs from his older sister’s closet and stuffing socks in the toe just so he could wear them. Shoes were always around him. He paid attention to colors, materials, and the way certain pairs stood out. Long before skating became serious, sneakers were already part of how he expressed himself.

Skateboarding came a little later, but once he found it things moved quickly. Local parks around the Phoenix area became the place where he spent most of his time, skating with older locals who started noticing how fast he was progressing. Within a few years he had built a reputation in the Arizona scene for both his ability and the energy he brought to skating.

Nike SB eventually noticed too.

As a teenager, Jordan remembers the first Nike SB boxes showing up at his house. One of the earliest pairs he received was the Koston 1, and from that point on he became closely connected to the brand and the Dunk itself. The shoes he grew up wearing were now the same ones arriving at his doorstep.

Even after traveling through contests, filming video parts, and skating around the world, his home state Arizona never stopped being central to who he is. When Nike SB gave him the chance to design his own Dunk, that connection became the starting point.

Inspired by Home

The colors from his collaboration Dunk Low Pro come from something that had been sitting in his mind for years. Growing up, Jordan wore a 2001 Arizona Diamondbacks World Series hat constantly. The mix of black, teal, and purple stuck with him long before he ever imagined designing a shoe. That hat became the foundation for his Dunk.

The upper is built with black suede panels designed to handle skating, while textured snakeskin overlays reference the Arizona diamondback rattlesnake, tying the shoe directly to the region where Jordan grew up.

Bright spruce and purple accents appear across the lining, heel, and branding, pulling directly from the Diamondbacks colors that inspired the design. The connection to Arizona runs through almost every part of the shoe.

A snake head lace dubrae sits at the bottom of the laces. Custom artwork appears on the sockliner and inner tongue, and Jordan’s name is stitched into the tongue tag. The snakeskin overlays nod to the Arizona diamondback rattlesnake, while the mix of teal, purple, and black pulls directly from the 2001 Diamondbacks World Series hat that inspired the shoe.
