Vans x Atiba Jefferson Skate Safe Low

Vans x Atiba Jefferson Skate Safe Low

Atiba Jefferson has been one of the most influential photographers in skateboarding for more than two decades. He started skating in Colorado Springs before moving to California in the mid-90s, where he began documenting the culture that shaped him. His work has appeared in Thrasher, Slap, TransWorld, and countless other outlets that defined modern skate photography.

The Vans x Atiba Jefferson Skate Safe Low represents both his story and his craft. The shoe combines elements from the Half Cab and MC ’96 silhouettes, built for daily skate use with upgraded performance details. The upper features a mix of suede and ripstop nylon with DURACAP reinforcement in high-wear areas. POPCUSH cushioning offers better impact protection, and a molded heel counter provides structure and fit stability. The outsole uses Vans’ SICKSTICK rubber compound for better grip and control on the board.

Design-wise, it reflects Atiba’s eye for detail. The black and white colorway mirrors his photography, while the insole features one of his images of John Cardiel. Custom artwork by Haze runs through the midsole, tongue, and lining, adding an authentic creative layer that ties back to both art and skate culture.

The release is part of Vans’ United Through Skateboarding collection, which celebrates the people who have shaped the culture through creativity and connection. The Skate Safe Low will be available at Drift House starting October 16, 2025, in limited quantities.
