ASICS Skateboarding x Late Night Stars

Late Nite Stars came together in New York in 2019, built around a group of Texas skaters who found their place in the city through filming, skating, and staying close to the crew around them. Led by Chase Walker, LNS grew through videos that felt like a record of the session and raw. The footage carries the pace of New York, late nights, rough ground, crowded spots, and the kind of skating that comes from being out together constantly. Trung Nuyen, Zak Anders, Walker, and the rest of the crew helped build a visual language around that world, loose on the surface with a clear identity underneath it.

Late Nite Stars has been tied to ASICS Skateboarding since early on, and this collection pulls from that relationship through color, texture, and small decisions across each model. The JAPAN PRO MT and Leggerezza carry that same LNS energy through grey tones, odd color hits, suede, contrast piping, metallic details, and a feel that comes straight from the crew’s videos.

The JAPAN PRO MT comes in a grey-on-grey setup with a slight grey-purple hit worked into the palette. ASICS even calls it “gurple,” which is probably the most Late Nite Stars part of the whole thing. The shoe uses canvas stitching across the ASICS Stripes and comes with a newly slimmed down tongue profile that will be used on future JAPAN PRO Mid Tops. The shape still has that court shoe base, but the updated tongue gives it a cleaner fit compared to older versions of the mid.

The LEGGEREZZA comes in Oyster Grey and Black, and this is the suede version people had been asking for. High contrast piping laces run across the upper, with a warm clear sole underneath and metallic hits on the heel and toe box. The model already has a lighter, more minimal shape compared to a lot of skate shoes, and this version adds more texture without making it look too heavy.
