Vans Lizzie Armanto Collection

Vans Lizzie Armanto Collection

Lizzie Armanto’s close work with Vans Skate has resulted in a collection that represents her completely.

From being the first woman to successfully complete Tony Hawk’s 360 loop ramp, to competing in the first year Skateboarding was featured in the Olympics; Lizzie Armanto has been pushing the boundary for what it means to be female pro skater for years. After partnering with Vans back in 2014, they felt it was a natural progression to come up with a collection that represents her completely.

The Lizzie is Vans’ first pro model skate shoe designed by a woman in 20 years. Lizzie Armanto worked closely with Vans to bring her vision of an ideal skate shoe to life. The eco friendly & sustainable production was something that was really important to Lizzie.

The shoe is providing something new for a variety of skateboarders whose needs aren’t being met. The team used 3-D scans of her foot to create the mold of the shoe. With a slimmer fit tailored to Lizzie’s foot, and a trimmed down outsole and insole, the shoe was meant to provide more board-feel in a high top silhouette.

Lizzie says she had a lot of fun designing the clothing in the collection; which features the Mini Tee, the Knit Tank, her Chino Pant, along with a Waist Pack.

The Mini Tee is mad with nice threads, and has a lemon patch with her signature in the middle. The Waist Pack is constructed of a ripstop material which also features unique embroidery that’s inspired by her love of the outdoors.

The Knit Tank is made of sweat wicking mesh, featuring a closed mesh front, and open mesh back.

She’s a big fan of the way the pants fit; saying “they’re like a little bit looser fit and they fit my quads really well, which I find there’s some women’s jeans that don’t take into account all body sizes, and so I feel like we found a really good fit with this pant.“  The back of the pants are lined with ventilation holes, that are hidden really well. Lizzie’s signature can also be seen on the back of the waistband.
