Vans LX Old Skool "Charms Pack" drops this Wednesday April 1, and these two colorways are a proper mess in the best way.
Designer Greg Betty, who goes by Betties, took a clean polished Old Skool from Fall 25 and ran it through the ringer for Spring 2026. He calls it putting the shoe through a grunge, worn, real-life filter. The idea was to mess with what people think beauty, perfection, and being "complete" should look like. Throw in a bit of uncontrolled chaos. To him, that is just America right now.

The uppers have this worn-in suede that already looks like it has seen some miles. There is a diamond quilt stitch pattern running across the tongue. The heel panel gets hit with sequins that catch the light different every time you move. Then you have custom tweed that feels like it was inspired by Chanel but dragged through the streets and made its own thing. Gunmetal eyelets and studs sit on the toe vamp, and there are custom gunmetal keychain charms that hang off like little souvenirs you actually want to keep.

The sidewalls come greased up for that lived-in look. Asymmetric paint splatter details are placed around the shoe like someone got loose with a brush and did not care about staying neat... in a good way. You also get a set of neutral secondary hiking laces as an extra, so you can switch it up whenever you feel like it.
The shoes in this pack do not look fresh off the shelf. The suede already has that worn feel, like someone has been kicking around in them for weeks. That is exactly what Betties was going for. He wanted to mess with the whole idea of things needing to look perfect and clean. Just let the mess and chaos do the talking instead.
