New Balance's annual "Grey Day" celebration is set to feature the release of the Numeric 933 Andrew Reynolds "Grey Days" edition on May 26, 2025. This model marks Reynolds' first signature shoe with New Balance, blending inspiration and elements from the brand's heritage 990 series with skate functionality. Although, you won't get a flick like Reynolds.
Reynolds, known for his preference for New Balance running shoes during skate sessions, collaborated closely with the brand to design a shoe that reflects his personal style and performance needs. The Numeric 933 draws inspiration from the 993 model, incorporating a dark grey suede upper, navy mesh on the toe box, tongue, and collar, and textured grey leather around the quarter panels. Reflective "N" logos and a "Reynolds" tag on the tongue add subtle branding details.
Functionally, the shoe features ABZORB cushioning for impact absorption, NDurance rubber outsoles for durability, and a padded tongue for comfort. There are hidden draft numbers for the shoe model, including a hidden "8055" code that nods to Reynolds' nickname "The Boss", under the insole.
The "Grey Days" edition aligns with New Balance's tradition of celebrating its signature grey colorway each May. Introduced in the 1980s, the grey hue was chosen for its versatility and ability to complement urban environments, quickly becoming synonymous with the brand's identity.
